PCN Clinical Director and GP Lead Urgent Care

Dr Nick Jackson was born and brought up in North Yorkshire; he has been a full time GP at Beech Tree Surgery since 1998. He has interests in diabetes and minor surgery as well as teaching medical students and junior doctors. As Clinical Director, he helps to oversee the priorities of the PCN and represents the interests of the Selby locality in the wider Vale of York.

Dr Richard Stockley was born and brought up in York and qualified at Leicester University in 1995. After spending time working in Australia he returned to complete his GP training in Nottingham and has been working at Posterngate Surgery since 2002. His interests include diabetes, frailty, minor surgery and teaches medical students.

Dr Ruth Walker

Clinical Lead for Population Health and Health Inequalities

Dr Ruth Walker has worked as a GP in Selby since 2004 both as a salaried GP and a GP partner. She is passionate about improving health for the population of Selby and in particular trying to tackle health inequalities. She currently supports workstreams and projects linked to Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Neurodiversity, Deprivation and Prevention. She enjoys building relationships and working closely with the key partners in Selby to improve health and wellbeing for all. She currently works 2 days doing clinical work at Beech Tree Surgery and 2 days as a clinical lead for the Primary Care Network.

Richard was born in West Yorkshire, spent most of working life working in North Yorkshire yet lives in South Yorkshire. He retired from Practice Management after 23 years in March 2019 and now provides management support to Selby Town PCN on a part time basis helping across all areas of activity. Richard likes to keep fit & healthy by going to the gym, running and fell walking.

Helen was born in York Hospital and has lived in Selby ever since. Helen has worked in General Practice since 2017 and has worked as a Dementia Care Coordinator since March 2020. Helen has a passion to support her local community and helps to support patients and their families to live a good life with Dementia. Helen enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog walking in the great outdoors.

John was born in Turkey and has been living in England for the past 4 years. John joined the PCN in 2022 and has a passion for healthcare analytics and improving practices digital solutions. In his free time he enjoys playing football, brazillian jiu jitsu and socialising with friends.

Kelly Stephenson

Ageing well/ Dementia Care Coordinator

Kelly has lived in Selby all her life. She started working as a Care Coordinator in February 2022, previously she worked in the reception and admin team at Scott Road Medical Centre, prior to this she enjoyed working at York Hospital in the Health Records department for 17 years. She loves helping people and is passionate about helping people live well and maximise their independence. She enjoys cycling, walking and spending time with family and friends in her spare time.

Catherine Black

Dementia Care Coordinator

Catherine was born in Leeds and has called Selby home for 31 years. Catherine worked as a healthcare assistant and receptionist at Scott Road Medical Centre for 18 years prior to starting her role within the PCN. Catherine has multiple skills and has supported an array of people throughout her career while being passionate about improving the lives of patients. Catherine enjoys spending time with her family and friends and appreciates the beauty of the great outdoors and spends her free time dog walking

Laura previously worked for Beech Tree Surgery as part of the reception team for 3 years before becoming a Frailty Care-Coordinator.  Laura has multiple skills and has supported an array of people with different needs and abilities throughout her career.  Laura is passionate about improving the lives of patients and helping them to stay independent as long as possible.

Kelly has transitioned in her career from a medical receptionist at Scott Road Medical Centre to a Mental Health Administrator within Selby Town PCN using the equipped skills to progress with her career and keen to learn more about Mental Health. Kelly is passionate about helping others and feels this aligns perfectly in her role. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her little girl and dog and enjoys days out having fun together.

Learning Disabilities Care Coordinator

Montana has lived in Selby for over 20 years and joined the Care Co-ordination Team in October 2020. Montana acts as a single point of contact for patients with a learning disability, their families and their carers, and provides an easily accessible route to support. Having previously worked for Mencap in Selby for 4 years, Montana is very passionate about ensuring people with a learning disability can lead happier, healthier and more independent lives.

Safeguarding Care Coordinator

Nikki was born in Somerset but has steadily moved up the country and has called Selby her home for nearly 20 years. Previously a teacher and union rep, Nikki comes to us having worked in the Beech Tree Reception team. She’s passionate about ensuring everyone gets the help and support they need whatever their circumstances. Her role as Safeguarding Care Co-ordinator will bring a coordinated approach across the PCN and see her develop as the Safeguarding specialist, providing advice and a one stop point of call both to surgery staff and outside agencies.

Paramedic

Matt is an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner for the PCN, he has previously worked for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service as a frontline Paramedic and Clinical Supervisor and also worked as an ACP at both an Urgent Treatment Centre and also at the Emergency Department in Hull. In his spare time Matt is part of the Football Association Medical Education Faculty training the medical staff within the professional and elite game.

Alice Houlden

Cancer Care Coordinator

Alice has lived in Yorkshire most of her life. Having moved back to Selby after university Alice joined Selby Town PCN in October 2020. Initially Alice supported frail patients in the Selby area but upon expansion of the care coordinator team in 2022, was able to follow one of her passions and support patients who have been diagnosed with Cancer. Alice is keen to support patients on their individual cancer journeys from diagnosis to living beyond cancer. In her spare time Alice enjoys time with her family exploring the Scottish Highlands.

Dietician

Nicki is a registered dietitian and has worked with Selby Town PCN since January 2023. She works with patients in group settings as well as one-to-one, and is keen to promote health and well being through diet and lifestyle management. Nicki has a specialist interest in addressing health inequalities and bridging the gap between public health messages and clinical care. She is an active member of the British Dietetic Association and sits on the BDA Public Health Specialist Group committee.
